Silence Speaks Louder Than Words Ever Will
Finding the time to heal

Silence projects strength and authority.
It communicates better when you’ve had enough of what’s going on. When practicality fails to serve its purpose and words become like dried and trodden sand underfoot. Excuses lose their meaning and their validity.
Silence brings about a sense of comfort. Sometimes you tend to say too much. You over-explain yourself, not knowing if it’ll make any difference. When nothing makes you feel good and you’re lost. Your mind is overcrowded with words bubbling over, demanding release. But you can’t give expression to any, so you bolt the door. You stay silent in the black darkness, retreating inward, into the inner solitude of your mind where you find space to be you.
Silence speaks volumes when they don’t recognize, acknowledge, or refuse to understand. It’s the loudest sound there is when words do not adequately express thoughts to deaf ears. It speaks through the hurt when it’s too painful to talk. It lets them know they’ve hurt you, not even sure if they are aware or even care. You no longer want to react, so you withdraw in silence.
When you suffer, you do so in silence. When no one comprehends what you’re going through and should never presume to understand.
You’ve loved without boundaries, but they made you forget you’re magic. When promises litter the air like fireworks, so colorful in their dazzling brilliance only to fizzle out and disappear in the darkness. What once sends a vibration to your soul now becomes fatigued and lifeless. All that remains within fades unresponsive into silence.
Silence is necessary when you need to be strong. When you need to protect your brokenness from the all-encompassing truth. When you want to hide your weakness and conceal your wounds because they’ll laugh at you or label you as crazy. You erect walls between them and you, finding ease and peace in being alone. You’re at home with yourself, at home to heal.
Silence permits your aloneness with your thoughts while you try hard to make sense of it all. Yet you know deep inside it’s not about finding meaning as much as it’s about finding acceptance. When the point isn’t made clear and contexts get ignored, you…
